External Affairs

The External Affairs team's core aim is to provide support to members locally and nationally, acting as liaison between members and stakeholders across the health sector. Policy work promotes the importance of a fully-staffed rheumatology multidisciplinary team.

Campaigning activities focus on:

• Workforce issues (such as vacancies, poor retention and accessibility of training and education)

• COVID-19 support (including specialty guidance and responses to Parliamentary Health and Social Care inquiries)

• The problems associated with access to care (highlighting the importance of developing sustainable services that deliver equitable outcomes for everyone, accounting for individual, organisational and geographical barriers to care)
